Welcome to the first stop aboard Magical Blogorail Orange. Enjoy the ride as we share our tips for free items at Disney Parks.
We see them all the time at every counter service meal….the paper Disney cup. But did you know that you could to that same counter service location at any time and they will give a paper cup full of water for free. Think about that for a second. No need to spend a snack credit or $2.75 to $3.00 on a bottle of water and then filling that bottle with water from water fountains. You can go to any counter service at any time and get free water. Not once per day. You could go multiple times per day. You can multiple cups per visit.
On a typical visit, my family would get a couple gallons of water for our water bottles that we would take into the parks. After we finished that water, we would head to the counter services for a refill. Once we started doing this, we noticed that we need to purchase less water for the room. Now, we were saving on two fronts. We were saving our snack credits or $3.00 for a bottle of water and now we saving even more money since we needed to purchase less water for the room.
As someone who is very susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke, this tip is a life saver. On a hot day in the parks, I could easily go through a half-gallon to a gallon of water just to stay hydrated and stay out of the first aid station. I’d much rather spend my time relaxing and cooling off in a counter service restaurant than at the first aid station.

This has got to be one of my favorite tips to tell newbies to Disney. I don’t know of any other park that does this and it saves not only a lot of money but lugging heavy bottles of water around with you all day. I have picky kids who don’t always want water, so I put single serving Kool-aid packets in my bag and we’re good to go!
We usually bring lemonade packets in our park bag.
I had no idea this was a thing! I’m pretty lucky in that I usually make my trips in the fall – so the heat isn’t so intense, but either way, I’ll certainly be saving a snack credit or two by doing this next time I visit!
Best free tip I’ve discovered. Made great use of it in August when it was pushing 100 degrees every day. It was pretty much attraction-water-attraction-water…just to stay well hydrated.
This is such a great freebie! Drinks of any sort at the parks are SO expensive! I must admit that I’m not a fan of just straight water, so I bring something to flavor the water with, like the small bottles of flavor drops or an herbal tea bag.
Lemonade packets are typically part of our park bag.
Great tip! I hate the idea of wasting a snack credit on water bottle when there are so many other delicious things to use your credits for!
Especially during Food and Wine Festival…need to save those snack credits for tasty snacks.
I love this! Our local park does this as well and it’s crazy how much people spend on bottled water, etc. Love this post!
We figure it saves us close to $50 per trip (week long) since we are not wasting snack credits on a $3 bottle of water.
We didn’t know about this freebie on our last trip. We definitely plan on taking advantage of it next week!
I love by this tips!! I have never lugged bottles through the parks and will stop often at the counter service location for water.
