Top 5 Show Attractions at Walt Disney World

Festival of the Lion King #1

Everybody loves a good show and Walt Disney World is filled with show-type attractions.  Show attractions are great heading into the summer season.  They can be used to escape the heat or an afternoon thunderstorm since they are longer than most ride-type attractions.  Show attractions, also, come in all shapes and sizes.  They can be from a Disney movie or from take people back in time.   Fireworks, Illuminations, and Fantasmic are not eligible for this list So, with that in mind, let’s head into the countdown.

Storytelling

The theme for this week’s Wordless Wednesday is storytelling.  Storytelling takes on many shapes and sizes.  Just about every picture tells a story.  To capture this week’s theme, I’ve told the story of a recent dinner that my wife and I had at Yachtsman Steakhouse.  You can see everything in this meal from appetizers through main course and finally dessert.  Enjoy.

Special Events and Walt Disney World – The Future

Last year, Walt Disney World rolled out a lot of special events to its special event lineup.  Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas are the tent-poles of the Walt Disney World Special Events.  Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park open for 24 straight hours during Memorial Day weekend is quickly becoming a third tent-pole for these special events.  The 24-hour park day is a great promotion for the guests because it does not require an extra ticket to attend like the Halloween and Christmas Party.  The other events, on this list, are also “hard/extra ticket” events.

Disclaimer: Everything in this article in regard to what events will be coming to Walt Disney World is pure speculation.  None of these events, for this year, has been confirmed or denied by Walt Disney World.

Disney Movies That Help You Get Excited For Your Disney Vacation

Disney has released a lot of movies and lots of people watch Disney movies to help them get excited and help them count down to their Disney vacation.  With Fall Free Dining released today, it seems like a good idea to go through some of the movies which, I think, should be part of every Disney vacation countdown.

I decided to break my countdown movies into two groups (Classic and Modern).  There are four movies in each groups and they all animated.  If this list was for Disneyland not Disney World, it would include Mary Poppins, in the classic category, and Saving Mr. Banks in the modern category.

Weekly Update – April 25, 2015

We are just one week away from the 1st anniversary of the Dad For Disney blog.  While there will be no special celebration (sorry, no cake and ice cream for our followers).  There will be a round-up of the articles from week and the most popular articles of the year.  Here, though, is this week’s round-up:

We opened the week by taking a spin on The Matterhorn at Disneyland.

Then had a healthy debate about if we will ever see a new country added to the World Showcase lineup.

Wordless Wednesday had an Earth Day theme and saw some nature.

The Orange Loop of the Magical Blogorail took us around the value resorts at Walt Disney World.  My stop took us to the Art of Animation.

We closed the week out by taking four rides on Spaceship Earth.  One ride for each narrator of the attraction.

Dad For Disney has some big news which will be announced on the Facebook group later today.
