Weekly Recap – May 10, 2015

cropped-views-3.jpg

Week one of year two was a fun week for the Dad For Disney blog covering a wide variety of topics.  One of things, I am going to be doing, this year, is put together month-by-month planning guides (what’s going on the park, how crowded the park will be, what attractions are down for refurbishment, etc.).  Hopefully, you guys will find this information helpful when planning your Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacation.  Now, on to the weekly recap:

The week started by celebrating the first birthday/anniversary for the Dad For Disney blog.

Celebrations continued with a Cinco de Mayo celebration on Tuesday.

Wordless Wednesday carried us into the month of May with a “calendar shot” for the month.

A list of frozen treats was part of a Top 5 Thursday.

We paid tribute to the mothers who time, in their Disney movie, was far too short.

That’s all for this week.  We have another fun week of articles and discussion on tap for the coming week.

Weekly Recap – May 3, 2015

Festival of Fantasy #23Welcome to the end of year 1 at the Dad For Disney blog.  It’s a fun and successful year for the blog as I’ve had the chance to watch it grow from one member following to a group of over 800 followers.  Tomorrow, I will have a much larger recap article on tap.  But now, let’s look at the busy week on the blog.

We started the week looking at movies that can help you get in the mood for your Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacation.

Then moved into the world of special events past, present, and future at Walt Disney World.

Wordless Wednesday took us into the world of storytelling and I told the story of dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse.

There are many types of attractions at Walt Disney World.  A top 5 list of the Show Attractions at Walt Disney World made an appearance on Thursday.

We closed the week tackling the topic of free dining and has it run its course as a Walt Disney World promotion.

I also recorded my first Mice News Minute for the Behind the Magic Podcast.

Top 5 Show Attractions at Walt Disney World

Festival of the Lion King #1

Everybody loves a good show and Walt Disney World is filled with show-type attractions.  Show attractions are great heading into the summer season.  They can be used to escape the heat or an afternoon thunderstorm since they are longer than most ride-type attractions.  Show attractions, also, come in all shapes and sizes.  They can be from a Disney movie or from take people back in time.   Fireworks, Illuminations, and Fantasmic are not eligible for this list So, with that in mind, let’s head into the countdown.

Top Five Table Service Restaurants at Walt Disney World

Last week, I went over the Top 5 Counter Service Restaurants at Walt Disney World.  This week, I’m going to tackle the Top 5 Table Service Restaurants at Walt Disney World.  However, I’m making one qualifier to this list.  Signature dining experiences are not eligible for this lists because they would dominate the list crowding out some deserving restaurants.  All of the restaurants, on today’s list, cost only one table service credit per person (if you are on the Disney Dining Plan). As with all lists, it’s opinion-based and this list reflects that.  It’s based on restaurants that I have eaten at in my many visits to Walt Disney World.  Your list may be different because I know I haven’t eaten at every restaurant so I know I’ve missed some places.  Now, let’s eat!
