Day two of the trip is where the travel difficulties of travelling with larger groups came to light. The goal was to meet at Hollywood Studios around 9:00. A majority of the group had Fastpasses for Star Tours starting around 10 am. The rest of the group had Fastpasses for Disney Junior Live on Stage. My wife, daughter, and I got to Hollywood Studios at the agreed upon meeting time. The rest of the group did not. We waited and waited and waited and waited for the rest of the group to arrive. They finally arrived at 9:45. We quickly, instead of leisurely, picked out Mickey Ear hats for the “first-timers” in the party to get monogrammed then headed our separate ways.
One of things that my family loves about Walt Disney World is a lot of the rides are not thrill rides so all families can enjoy them as a family. My wife is not a thrill ride person. The biggest thrill ride that she goes is Test Track because she has convinced herself that she’s in a convertible going down the highway. However, most of the other thrill rides, she will not go on them. One of the parks where we can enjoy a lot of attractions, as a family, is Hollywood Studios. Hollywood Studios has a lot of shows and slow-moving attractions that we can enjoy together. Here’s my top-five list of Hollywood Studios attractions for those that don’t like thrill rides. Sorry Star Tours, Tower of Terror, and Rock n Rollin Coaster.
I hope everyone had an exciting Fourth of July.
My Fourth was filled with relaxation after a stressful July 3rd. First, my central air didn’t restart after a power blip and I thought the compressor motor was fried and I shut off the air conditioner. I was without air conditioning for most of the day until the HVAC repairman came and found nothing wrong. All that was need was to let the air conditioner sit idle for 10-15 minutes to let the compressor reset and then turn it back on. After that, it worked fine.
After that fiasco, I went swimming with my daughter at the local town pool. I decided that it would be a good idea for my phone to go swimming with me. Thankfully, I was eligible for an upgrade so my broken iPhone 4 turned into a functional iPhone 5. These were two stresses that I didn’t need heading into a holiday weekend.
