The Disney Parks blog announced, yesterday, that there would be a holiday-time Frozen event at Hollywood Studios. This event, called, the Frozen Holiday Premium Package, gets a guest the following:
Reserved Seating for the Frozen Sing-Along
Reserved Viewing for the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights
Frozen-themed Dessert Party
A Holiday-themed Lithograph
A Frozen Pin
The cost for this event is $89/adult (plus tax) and $59/child (plus tax, child aged 3-9). The event will take place on November 7-19, November 21-December 9, December 11-January 4. I’ve heard rumors that Hollywood Studios is closing at 4 pm on November 20. No word on why there is no event on December 10.
Disney has announced, this afternoon, that a Frozen-themed attraction will be replacing Maelstrom in the Norway Pavilion. The attraction will take guests through the Kingdom of Arendelle with scenes and music from the movie. There will also be a royal greeting location where Anna and Elsa will greet guests.
Anna and Elsa will also have a presence in the Magic Kingdom during the holiday season as Queen Elsa will transform Cinderella Castle into an ice palace. Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf will also be making appearances in the “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.”
In Hollywood Studios, Frozen Summer Fun has been extended even further into the holiday season while the Wandering Oaken Trading Post will be open through the holiday season as well.
Yesterday, it was reported by The Epcot Explorer’s Encyclopedia Facebook page about changes coming to the Norway Pavilion:
The international program Cast Members at the Norway Pavilion have been informed that attractions and merchandise positions at the pavilion will not exist beyond the end of September. CM’s with contracts in October and beyond are being offered transfers and training in Food/Beverage. Recruitment for Fall/Winter attractions/merchandise has been canceled.
Just word of this rumored change caused a spike in the wait time for Malestrom to 60 to 80 minutes as people assume the rumored changes going to convert the Norway Pavilion into the Kingdom of Arendelle with Anna and Elsa taking over the area.
Another week has gone by and it has been a busy week on the Dad For Disney blog. Here’s a recap of what you have missed in the past week. A big item of note is I am planning a giveaway after the group reaches 500 members AND I return from Disney at the end of the month.
Anna and Elsa continue their hold their grip on Disney fans. It was announced today that Frozen Summer Fun has been extended until September 28.
However, the Frozen Fireworks Spectacular will only run on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. All other events: Frozen Sing-A-Long, parade, Wandering Oaken Trading Post will continue to run through September 28th. The Frozen Summer Fun Premier Package will be available on Friday, Saturday, and Sundays when the Frozen Fireworks Spectacular takes place.
This is the second summer event that Disney has extended into the fall. Last week, it was announced that EPCOT After Hours Wind Down would be extended through the Food and Wine Festival and now ends on November 9.
