While my wife was spending time with her sister and niece at the Bon Voyage Breakfast, my daughter and I headed into the Magic Kingdom for some exciting time in the parks. We hopped on the monorail for the short ride from The Grand Floridian to the Magic Kingdom. I really wish there was a way to make a walkway from The Grand Floridian to the Magic Kingdom like the walkway from The Contemporary but, alas, the water way where the Electrical Water Pageant floats are stored gets in the way. Still we were in the park before 8 am. However, we could not beat the end of the opening stage show and had to walk through the crowds to our first stop, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Adventures in Disneyland – Day 3 Part 1
Welcome to day 3 of Dad For Disney’s Adventures in Disneyland. For those of you who have just found my adventures, you can catch up at the following links:
One of things that I enjoyed about this trip was being up and ready to go before the parks open….stinking jet lag. But this allowed us to get a head start on the crowds and get a lot of things done before they arrived. Day 3 was no different. Once we got our daughter up and moving, we headed into Disneyland Park for the roller coasters that we missed on our initial visit.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad…A Review
Most people going to Magic Kingdom focus on one of two mountains…Splash Mountain and Space Mountain. I’m focusing, today, on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Tucked away in the back corner of Frontierland, it gains a lot of foot traffic due to its proximity to Splash Mountain. It doesn’t have the indoor roller coaster allure of Space Mountain in Tomorrowland. But, it is still worthy of a ride or two during your Disney stay.
Like most “thrill rides” at Walt Disney World, it is tame enough that all members of the family can enjoy the attraction. My family isn’t one of those families but it is still an attraction that I enjoy with my daughter.
