Storytelling

The theme for this week’s Wordless Wednesday is storytelling.  Storytelling takes on many shapes and sizes.  Just about every picture tells a story.  To capture this week’s theme, I’ve told the story of a recent dinner that my wife and I had at Yachtsman Steakhouse.  You can see everything in this meal from appetizers through main course and finally dessert.  Enjoy.

Forgotten Films from the 80s

Many people look at The Little Mermaid as sparking a new golden age of Disney films.  For the most part, they are right.  The Little Mermaid did bring back Walt Disney Animation to the forefront.  But today, I want to talk about the movies which preceded The Little Mermaid.  There are five very good movies sandwiched between the 1977 release of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and the 1989 release of The Little Mermaid.

I Saw a Sign – Wordless Wednesday

Signs are everywhere at Walt Disney World.  This week’s theme of Wordless Wednesday hosted by Focused on the Magic is Signs.  I’m sharing some of my signs.  The long sign is a sign that everyone staying at The Contemporary or Bay Lake Tower goes past on their walk to Magic Kingdom.  Above our some of my families favorite attractions: Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid, It’s A Small World, Dumbo the Flying Elephant.

Wordless Wednesday – Four Favorites

This week on the Focused on the Magic Wordless Wednesday blog hop, the theme is Four Favorites.  I chose four of my favorite characters that are rarely seen in the parks.  Going from top left to bottom right is Scrooge McDuck along with Donald and Daisy (only seen at the Very Merry Christmas Party), Dumbo (only seen in Festival of Fantasy Parade), Thumper and Miss Bunny (no longer seen in Animal Kingdom), and the Seven Dwarfs (only seen at Not So Scary Halloween Party).

#ImagineeringFriday – Reimagining Walt Disney World Speedway

A couple of weeks ago, Disney announced that the Richard Petty Driving Experience would be leaving the Walt Disney World Speedway in June.  Disney also announced that the area would be undergoing “transportation enhancements.”  To me, this is very vague and leads me to believe that “The Mickyard” will be no more.  This makes it a perfect candidate for #ImagineeringFriday.

Usually, I set up some rules and restrictions for these projects.  But with this one, there are no rules.  You can design whatever you want into that space.  It’s a blank canvas.
