At the end of every Super Bowl, we hear someone from the winning team say, “I’m going to Disney World!” or in some cases, “I’m going to Disneyland!” But who was the first person to say it?
Phil Simms was the first person to say it. Back in 1987 after Super Bowl XXI, MVP Phil Simms said in an ad that ran right after the Super Bowl ended.
Simms was paid $75,000 by Disney to make the advertisement.
Two years later after Super Bowl XXIII, Joe Montana was the first to say, “I’m going to Disneyland!”
